Factory Inventory Management System
Factory Inventory management System is a systematic approach to sourcing, storing, and selling inventory—both raw materials and finished goods. Here, inventory refers to the raw materials, work-in-progress goods, and finished products that are held within a facility or storage space. This complex system is developed by assessing the item types and quantities that are required for the production process, vendor selection(based on quality, cost, and delivery times to acquire the necessary raw materials), stocking and storing(Received materials and goods are properly stored using techniques like FIFO (First-In-First-Out) to ensure quality and minimize wastage), inventory turnover tracking(to understand how quickly goods are sold and replenished, which helps in optimizing stocking strategies), stock monitoring and Auditing & Reporting.
Extensive discussions were held between the business owner, product analyst team, and developers to identify the specific use cases. For automating the reorder process, reorder functionalities(Reorder items exactly when they’re needed by setting reorder and alert points for the inventory) are built to have the right stock at the right time to help managers make informed decisions about inventory management, supplier performance, and purchasing strategies. We also developed powerful reports on sales, inventory, receivables, payments, purchases, and more thus helping them know what’s happening at each stage of their business operations.
The custom software handles the entire process from receiving raw materials to tracking their use in production and managing finished goods inventory, ensuring streamlined operations and accurate stock levels. Built using Java Spring Boot for the backend, React for the front end, and PostgreSQL for the database, the system offers robustness, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
Leveraging AWS services like Elastic Beanstalk for backend deployment, AWS Amplify for frontend deployment, and Amazon RDS for database management, the software ensures high availability and performance. AWS Cognito provides secure user authentication and authorization, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access the system, and enhancing security and compliance.
Utilizing Route 53 for domain management, the software ensures efficient and reliable access to the application, supporting smooth business operations. The deployment strategy in AWS Cloud allows for easy scaling to meet increasing business demands, ensuring the software remains reliable and performs well under varying loads.
